Today’s business demands reliable, secure, available and innovative Information Technology services, including software development and maintenance, hardware infrastructure, and innovative personnel with the knowledge and skill to meet the business’ needs today and in the future. ECI Networks is designed to meet those demands.
The founder of ECI Networks has a history of creating IT solutions to meet business needs.
In 1980 he was the designer, technical engineer and marketing innovator of the current mortgage reporting and tracking systems used today to publish comparison charts on the daily activity of the primary and secondary markets of real estate finance, streamlining financial information for public use.
From 1983 thru 1991 he also pioneered innovations in database management and application systems by engineering function based infrastructures and processes for business management and business development for industries involved in international trade, medical, shipping, construction, manufacturing and the non-profit sectors.
In 1992, Earthwind Companies, Inc. was formed as an IT solutions company, providing web-based solutions and the development of applications over the internet and on premise, with full service hardware support which included telecommunications systems and telephony services.
In 2000, ECI pioneered virtual computing environments, including cloud computing and virtual private networks in one of the nation’s first data centers completely powered by solar, wind, and geothermal energy. ECI set out to bring IT to a level of functionality previously experienced only from utility companies: reliability, security, high availability and performance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Like the services provided by your electric utility, “… you flip the switch, the lights light, and you see where you are going.” ECI has made all the functions of IT perform just as reliably and efficiently as your utility service.
Our utility computing is a pay-as-you-go model also. Just as end-users tap into their local electric grid and pay only for the power they use, utility computing customers will be able to tap into a mammoth computer grid of infra-structure and service choices. By charging only for the range and volume of services used, ECI transforms the high fixed costs formerly associated with IT into lower variable costs.
Simply stated, IT as a service (ITaaS) and IT as a Utility (ITaaU) entail the delivery of standardized processes, applications and infrastructure as a service, on premise and over the network, with both business and IT functionality. ITaaS and ITaaU differ from the traditional IT department model and current data center services in two key ways:
* It is standardized requiring little customization or integration.
* It is scalable, providing capacity on demand in a pay-as-you-go model.
We focus on the operational concerns of information technology management (sometimes known as operations architecture), a framework that structures IT-related activities and the interactions of IT technical personnel with business customers and users
IT as a Service (ITaaS) and IT as a Utility (ITaaU) is the delivery, we call it ECI E3 – Efficient – Effective – Economical. More than a reactionary service, our IT service management and back office grid is a full-functioning utility model addressing computer software, hardware, personnel and telecommunications infrastructure with 24/7 on-demand access, response, growth and capacity.
ECI offers a managed network care solution demonstrated by our management and maintenance procedures, to reduce the cost of IT-related ownership and performance by 35-50% as outlined in the Gartner report dated March 10th 2008 – Effective Management Can Cut Total Cost of Ownership for Desktop PCs by 42%.
Our grid based and redundant systems provide high availability, performance, and back up security. When disaster strikes, down time and disaster recovery has been less than one hour for servers, workstations and access to necessary business data.
In addition to virtual services, ITaaS includes on-site hardware infrastructure: desktop computers, network caballing, routers, servers, telephone systems, and VPN circuits to off-site locations. Core bandwidth is provided in partnership with major backbones, including Level Three, Qwest and Sparkle. All major data centers are built with green technologies in mind, resulting in high availability. Our systems meet the standards dictated by ISO 20000 (best practices for IT systems) and ISO 27001 (best practices for IT security standards).
The team of ECI Networks has over 120 years of combined experience in IT and business management. The team’s technical approach and solutions are designed to support how the business functions and makes a profit, focusing on reducing cost and increasing productivity and capability in marketing and sales.Click here for reuse options!
